Zombie Hate Brigade • Bio
(myspace.com/zombiehatebrigade)

The "brigade" a notorious mid west pirate sloop who had a long reign of terror in the Platte river of Colorado between 1716 and 1725, during a period of time referred to as the Golden Age of Piracy. Their best known vessel was the "dead reckoning",

Some accounts claim that they had as many as fourteen wives, most of them common-law, but documentation is lacking.

The "brigade" often fought with, or simply showed themselves wearing, multiple swords, knives, and pistols, and it was said that they had hemp and lighted matches woven into their enormous long dreadlock like hair during battle.

The "brigade" were consisted of not one, but 4 captains. The need for four captains came when the "brigade" conquered the majority of the side cites along the Platte River which gained them 4 sloops. Paul Simmoneau, Nic Collins, Christian Petersen and Paul Martin. Set sea at early ages and apparently were privateers before turning pirate. According to record books of Colorado, the "brigade" commanded 4 vessels of Colorado, 4 mother ships of twelve sloops and the other of eight with 30 guns and 250 men.

In the following five years, the "brigade" acquired a fearsome reputation for cruelty after repeatedly preying on shipping and coastal settlements of the mid west

They would raid merchant ships, coming up on them in major channels and forcing them to allow the "brigade" and their crew to board their ship. The "brigade" and their men would take all of the valuables, food, liquor, marijuana, weapons and shuffle board materials from the ships.

The "brigade" operated in littoral waters; it was difficult for ships to engage them in battle. As such, two smaller hired sloops were therefore put under the command of Lieutenant John Elway, with instructions from Michael Shanahan to hunt down and destroy the "brigade", offering a reward of $100,000 and smaller sums for the lesser crew members.

On a mid summer day in Colorado; the date August 17th 1725, the crew of the "dead reckoning" were aboard playing shuffle board (a dreaded game among pirates, that would sometimes lead to death) when Elway’s sloop attempted an attack.

Record books stipulate, that at the first salutation, they drank and smoked Damnation to Elway and his Men, whom they called "Cowardly Puppies", saying, they would neither give nor take Quarter". Eventually, Elway’s sloops were able to float, and they began to row towards the "brigade", since the wind was not strong enough at the time for setting sail. When they came upon the "brigades" ship, they were hit with a devastating broadside attack of shuffle board sticks and pucks. Ten men were killed in the surprise attack. Elway continued his pursuit in the Mile high ship, managing to blast the dead reckoning’s rigging, forcing it ashore. Once the "dead reckonings" ship would be bottomed Elway ordered many of his crew into the holds and readied to be boarded.

Once boarded, Elway sought after the ship’s captain’s demanding their heads. In a violent battle of shuffle board the Dead reckoning would sink, taking the crew and its four captains with it.

Now, Re-establishing them selves in December of 2003 the "BRIGADE" has come back from the dead to seek out and avenge their deaths. Now going under the name ZOMBIE HATE BRIGADE and their alias’s SicNic, Pito scum, Simms the dreaded and KoKo Lopez can be heard creating noise through out Colorado’s theatre’s and clubs in an attempt to gather as many souls they can to crew their once fallen mother ship "the dead reckoning".
