Distant Theory is quickly becoming a dominant metal force in the southeastern United States, and they have their sights set on conquering the entire metal world.

Hailing from Lexington, KY, the band unleashed their debut CD, "Changes", on the world in December of ’07. The (self-financed) CD, (MFI Records), was recorded and produced by Distant Theory and Phil Weisenberger at Weisenberger Studios in Georgetown, KY.

After completing video shoots for "Decide" and "Say We Are", the band embarked on their first US Tour, "Changes Tour ‘08" to promote the new album.

The tour kicked off in Cincinnati, OH, where the band opened for the multi-platinum and legendary Jackyl. Things have only accelerated from that point on.

After opening dates for million-seller Britny Fox, negotiations are in the works to have the band open for the recently reunited Trust Company, (heavily featured on MTV’s Headbanger’s Ball) on several dates as part of the current tour. Trust Company dates will be announced on the band’s website, www.distanttheory.net, the moment they become available.

The tour has already covered five US cities and there are twelve more stops presently on the summer leg, including two shows at the Hard rock Café in Memphis, TN, with more dates to be added as the "Bad Boys from Lexington" continue their rampage across the South.

The bands sound has been compared to Godsmack, and their debut CD has been well received by critics. The CD contains ten killer tracks that were written, produced and recorded in the span of less than two months, a remarkable feat for an initial effort.

Taxi Music Service offered the following review for the track "Decide" The riffs move through the track creating a solid foundation. The guitar note progression that soars over the chorus brings in some good definition. With the instrumentation staying true to their initial sources and the bass/guitar sharing roles, things could potentially become too closely delivered for that contrast. You guys rescue the song from that by the guitar parts of the chorus. The middle lead continues that theme nicely and brings in a flexibility that also benefits the arrangement. The vocals add their passion and commitment to the package. The track fits nicely into any hard rock or metal listing. Consider bringing the music to video game outlets also.

Music critic JB Delatta had this to say about "Changes"

the track "Touchstone" is instantly appealing and combines an infectious, in-your-face menace from the supporting vocals and a haunting guitar in the chorus that builds to a crescendo, (which left this listener scrambling for the remote to hit the repeat button. I wanted more!) This track is a possible breakout single from the CD.

There is a dark thread of edginess that seamlessly ties the album together, threatens to push you off the precipice, and then pulls you back only to laugh in your face and batter you again, but immersed in the thrashing guitars from Darian Mason and David Fite, and a pounding bottom end from bassist Chris Franklin and drummer Franklin Frye, the listener will be too engrossed to care. Like me, you’ll just want more. My advice? Listen loud, crank it up and hang on.

RCI Promotion of Nashville has signed the band to promote their music on radio stations all over the US.

Distant Theory was also recently featured on The SoupyGato Show.

The Digital Café Tour’s "Live 2.0- Independents Day" recently chose Distant Theory in the top 50 of this year’s competition.

With the tour barely under way and the accolades already pouring in, there is no stopping this band from storming their way to the top.
