Formed under the name Scum, and then changed to Amon Amarth. In J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Lord of the Rings" Amon Amarth is Sindarin for Mount Doom. With the name change to AMON AMARTH the band developed its lyrical concept about the life and death of Vikings and Norse Mythology.
